Missions

We Look Forward to Seeing You!

Allied Churches - Food Pantry

The most needed food items this month are canned fruit, mac & cheese, pasta and pasta sauces, canned tuna, peanut butter, jelly and cereal. All donations are appreciated! Thanks to your generosity, we were able to provide the pantry with over 300 lbs of food in February!

Blakey Hall Retirement Community Sunday Services

First Elon leads a worship service at 8:45 am at Blakey Hall on the 2nd Sunday of every month. We sing songs, deliver a message, and pray with the residents and caregivers. If you are interested in helping, please contact Wanda Mead.

Community Garden

Check out our Community Garden located in the front yard of the church. We plant spring, summer and fall gardens, donating the harvest to members of our community through Allied Churches. With help from Elon University Horticulture students and church volunteers, a variety of vegetables are grown throughout the year. We are always looking for volunteers to help with weeding, planting, and harvesting.

Hands and Hearts

If you would like to make a difference in the life of a child, please consider tutoring at Highlands Elementary School. We now have 10 tutors, over 10 hours a week, helping children and teachers! Please contact Janet Faucette or Melody Davenport if you would like to help.

Neighbor to Neighbor

Neighbor to Neighbor is an outreach ministry that focuses on providing home and yard maintenance help to those who are poor, lonely, sick, or unable to help themselves. Contact Tatum Boulware at (336) 584-5263 if you are interested in serving others by doing yard work, painting, swinging a hammer, etc. Our next service date coming up soon!

United Methodist Men (UMM)

United Methodist Men (UMM) is a ministry of the United Methodist Church for men that are striving to make Christ the center of their lives. It provides an opportunity to grow in Christ so that others may know Christ. Look in EBlast emails and listen to announcements to hear about UMM events. These events are where a shared time in devotions, discussion of projects that will benefit the church’s people, building and the community happen.

United Women in Faith (UWF)

United Women in Faith (UWF) is “a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.” Women of all ages participate in UMW here at First Elon. We meet regularly for education concerning worldwide missions, to raise funds for mission, and to join in Bible study and prayer for God’s people. All women are invited to join us, regardless of church membership.
