Youth Fellowship

United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) for 6th – 12th grades, meet on Sunday evenings for dinner, Bible study and thought-provoking conversation about what it means to be a Christian in a modern world and to serve others.

Corridor District Youth Events

Each year, youth from First Elon gather with other churches in our district to work in missions and to grow in Christ. They participate in a spring district-wide food drive (collecting 84,000 cans in 2013) and attend a weekend long event in Fayetteville, NC called Pilgrimage. Pilgrimage has been bringing United Methodist youth (6th-12th grades) and mentors to the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, NC for 20 years. It’s a life-altering weekend event in November filled with amazing artists and thought provoking speakers, but it’s about much more that what happens on stage. It’s an experience that calls everyone to a new or stronger faith in Jesus, challenging and inspiring them to share God’s love in a world longing for love and purpose. This is a time away from home to reflect on God, to study the Bible and worship with other youth.

Carolina Cross Connection

This summer camp/mission for high school youth is held in areas of the state where the poverty level is very high. Work is completed for the elderly or disabled who are unable to pay for needed repairs. Under adult supervision, the youth provide services such as home repairs, cleaning, painting, and building handicap ramps. They also witness and pray for the homeowner. Our entire church community gets involved by praying, helping with funding, and sending cards and treats to the youth while they are away on this mission. It is awesome to hear the youth tell how they were touched by the people they were sent to help!

LIFT (Love In Faith & Trust)

All middle and high school youth are welcome! Come Sundays 1-3PM for fellowship, Bible study with thought-provoking conversation and fun outings where you will learn and discuss what it means to be a Christian in a modern world.
